Pirates of the Gaspe Coast - Book
When we think of pirates, we usually think of the storybook swashbucklers who sailed their ships in the sunny waters of the Caribbean. But there were also the pirates who pillaged and plundered the small fishing villages along the Gaspe Coast. The secluded coves and inlets of the peninsula were perfect hiding places for pirate ships, and they were also a hunting ground for those looking to fill up on valuable cargo and recruits for their ships.
In this collection of stories, you will find about some of the notorious pirates who sailed through Gaspesian waters and the places that they attacked, such at Duthie's Point in New Richmond.
You will discover the travels of Black Bart, Peter Easton, Jean Doublet, Eric Cobham and his wife Maria Lindsey, Gaspe's own pirate, Peter Duval, who at one time owned land on Bonaventure Island.
These Gaspesian stories have not been published as a collective work in any other publication.
The revised edition of the book will be available on September 1st, 2024
