Prudent Landry was born in St Omer on the Gaspe Coast. Although he was small in stature, he became a world champion weight-lifter. He was known as Landry the Jaw and the Iron Jaw King because he was able to lift over 2000 pounds of weight with his jaw.
He travelled with Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show as well as the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus which was known as the Greatest Show on Earth.
